Proof of writing goals

2077 / 85000 words. 2%

From yesterday. I havent been able to meet a 1500/day goal so I scaled it back to 1000/day which has actually been fairly doable the last couple days. It's just a process of take a little time away and saying ok going to do this until I write X number of words and not allowed to do anything else until that goal is reached. About 40% of yesterday's words were, for example, written while I was stuck in the bathroom letting my hair colour develop lol

Am slowly learning to appreciate the writing in pieces tendency. I have three distinct scenes from three different sections already written out. One is in the wrong person and is actual from 2 months ago and may therefore get completely axed (its not included in my running word count for that reason) another is a very rough sketch of a very late scene during the climax which I original intended to be chapter one but don't feel strongly enough to place there. And currently I'm working on something that feels more like the latter half of chapter one rather than the actual beginning. I need an opener, a real grabby exciting incident to lead with and either make a leap forward in time (ie 12 Hours Later, that sort of thing) or make a leap back in time (like 5 Day Ago). I just havent zeroed in on what that should be yet. I have determined to just forge ahead with what I have at the moment, a case and a bit of misdirection building to the main plot, and see what comes to me.

Friend Katie is having her graduation celebration today, very exciting. Huge shout out to her for being absolutely awesome. I'm so happy for her, that's she done and all mastered up XD

Soundtrack for Red Inside (working title)

1. Fire in Your New Shoes by Kaskade feat. Martina Sobara (of Dragonette)
This is the title song and my No.1 inspiration for Red Inside. I adore Martina Sobara, her style, her hair and her voice are delectable.

2. Holding Out for a Hero remix cover by Frou Frou
I really love the original version of this song BUT I think this cover by Imogen Heap really stands on its own two feet as both a tribute to the original and a NEW fresh take on the classic. This song is also my personal "Sherlock BBC" theme.

3. I Am Not a Robot by Martina & the Diamonds
This song keeps me in mind where Cam is going over the course of not just this story but the serial arch.

Will add more as my personal playlist for this story grows. Currently switching between listening to a Martina & the Diamonds and a BellX1 station on pandora.

Woo Hoo!

Used to be a running blog...

While it's very true that I need to start running again, this cyclical cold/flu crap continues to kick my ass. Therefore, in the spirit of social networking and being productive I'm going to get back to blogging about non-fandom writing muses, goals, plans, etc. And when I'm over this latest round of the sinus revolt I'll endeavor to start up my running regime.

Goals for July '11/August '11 (accounting for lets say 55 days before fall semester starts):

  • restart yoga home practice 3/4 days a week
  • train for a 5k (8/10 weeks)
  • eat more vegetables and cut back on sugar intake (excluding tea)
  • write ≈ 85k word draft of Red Inside
  • start outline for NaNoWriMo (The Victor/Ayn Marriage)
  • Take 5 or 10 credits from sps

Perhaps a bit much but not insurmountable. My goal must be to conquer this lazy gaming-nurtured attitude.

This is kellianne, this is kellianne's plan to be decisive.

We Used to Be Friends

I'm not sure where else to turn to. There's this feeling that's been creeping up on me, and it's finally hitting me like a mac truck:

i am alone.

my friends are just friendly aquaintences now. my guild are casual friends but they arent the same as the best friends i used to have.

as i face moving across the state i'm struct by this inescapable truth. that maybe i'm more like Sandra Bullock in While You Were Sleeping than i ever thought i would be.

Dedication

I never thought that of the three of us, I'd be the one to stick with this whole running thing but it seems I am. It's a little daunting thinking about driving up to seattle by myself to run, by myself, but I'm at an impasse and I'm certainly not going to let other people hold me back. Because if there is one thing all this training has told me, I'm pretty damn capable and I don't even need other people encouraging me or rewards or anything. It's personal. It's for me. And if that means I gotta go it alone I guess that's that.

Not to say I'm not disappointed or sad because yeah, all those things are true too but what can you do about it?

Vacation Finally

Finished up all my schooling for summer quarter, buckle your seatbelts ladies and gentlemen for workworkwork. I'm aiming to pile on as many hours at work in the next three weeks as possible and get a jump start on my car payments for the next couple months, woo hoo.

School starts in about 2 1/2 weeks. I've decided not to overload myself. I'm going to try and transfer the 8credits I earned at TESC and take 16 fall quarter and then take >/=6 credits winter quarter, depending on how many credits SPS takes from TESC (it's really iffy transferring their credits but better to do it now rather than later)

If I could work full time for 8 months I feel pretty confident I could pay off my entire car loan which would be a huge huge thing. We'll see. I have to convince my father going off his medical for 8months isn't the end of the world though which could prove difficult.

I bought a bike. I haven't been running as much (more like 3-4 times a weeks = 9-12mi/week) but I've been peddling around a little more.

Coffee  Fest is coming up, yay. And we're hiring new people at work. Hopefully they are pretty bimboes *sigh*
